Maxima Maytag Washer Door Locked

After plugging the washer in one of the following 3 events will happen.

Maxima maytag washer door locked.

Once the washer door is closed the washer can begin operating. Door lock motor and switch assembly the door lock secures the washer door shut during operation. Unplug the washer and check the door lock assembly for damage or a loose wiring connection. The door may immediately unlock.

I have a maytag maxima front loader and it is doing exactly what the thread above is saying. The door is locked the pump is humming and the controls are all blank. If not call for service. If the washer was powered on before being connected to water the door may be locked and it may go into a drain mode.

The door should unlock after this is complete. Run a drain and spin cycle. Reconnect power to washer plug in. Clear any debris out of the door lock assembly.

If you have unboxed your front load washer to find that the door is locked and you are unable to open it please review the following instructions. Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset. Plug the appliance into a grounded 3 pronged outlet per the installation instructions. If the washer has an f8 e1 error or lo fl error the door will be locked and the control will be unresponsive.

The door can t lock. Unplugging for hours did nothing read more. If the door lock is defective the washer door will not latch properly.
